Monday hello! I'm bursting with pics from the last few days that I want to show you, but I gotta do the dreary practical stuff first -

Look at that - just look at that - now anything is possible because spring - is - here!

I stopped in the rush of people and solemnly raised my pocket camera to the sky - > SNAP < !

Have a sweet weekend, leave the house!

Later today I'll meet Bea Szenfeld!
To quote The Redskins: Take no heroes, only inspiration. She's my inspiration.

She's holding a workshop at Illustratörcentrums. We're told to bring:
Coloured papers, scissors, exacto knife, ruler, eraser, pen, tape, glue, old magazines and tracing paper.

I can't find this Bea Szenfeld pink paper dress online.
This is a photo of an earlier post of mine.
I tore it out of a magazine ages ago. I have no idea which magazine.

These days, so many things in my hood are colour blocked! And I try hard not to make puns like colour block - our block - I'm blocked... My words tumble about inside of me like a ball of string, but they don't come out in writing, they just wanna play

I realize this has become a complain about the weather blog - and that's no good

April has never been a favourite month of mine, even though that's when I have my birthday. April is a month that promises a lot but hardly ever delivers. You're always almost there, but not quite. And there, is of course summer

This weekend - in spite of these photos - is brimful with fun and Glenn loving time

And soon I can tell you about good stuff!

!

Have a great weekend!

The other half of the day: waffles, burgers and sunshine, a good, tasty Saturday with a board meeting and friends

Today I'm counting how many important dates I've forgotten and money, lack of money, and scraps of paper that could mean money. Sometimes it seems I forget everything, sometimes like I only can remember one thing at the time. This instability bothers me - please, let me grow out if this mode! One thing is for sure: consequences come

This isn't rain

It's a tiny snow storm, in a pastel coloured world - and instead of the warm weekend I was hoping for - and a bus ride from Skanstull to Hornstull at Söder, Sthlm - and as beautiful as seen through a camera lens and bus window, as annoying up close

Two things I've thought about recently:

1. Miranda July's The Future (2011). I enjoyed watching it, and reading and thinking about it afterward. Paw Paw to me is an Indian as in Native American, carrying a rich mystical cat legacy into the world of us

2. Anna Dorfman replies in a debate at Door Sixteen on work and inspiration:

"There is a vast difference between the kind of inspiration (which I really prefer to call influence) that we accumulate over time and through exposure, and with endlessly seeking out, cataloging, and preserving specific pieces of work to serve as inspiration for one’s own future output. One is the sum total of who were are as people, and the other is who we wish we were."

This is something I've been mulling over lately, but have been unable to put into words. I feel relief

THE MOON IS A PANCAKE

.
I remember when I was little and discovered that if you pulled out a drawer or opened a cupboard, a new space like a hidden world with unknown possibilities, would appear out of the flat surface. It was incredible, tingling everyday magic.

Since then I've loved theatre sets and reality turned flat - so the coloured sets from the silent films in Hugo (2011) made me so, so, so happy.

Sets make me question what it is we need to describe reality, and if a distillate is sometimes not only a necessity, but preferred?

(And I like that these look like old fashioned scraps!)

Mmm, man-made magic.

Under these barren branches there seems to have been a human intervention:
