I love plants. I want lots of them, but live in a small dark flat where the plants die unless they are pushed close to the window. In a former, sun drenched flat (I remember it as always sunny!) I had 35 plants. They were everywhere. It was great.
I want to buy more, it's no secret as I always do. Most of all I want to buy plants that I really like. I have few of those. But to do that I have to get rid of old ones that have been with me for years, and I can't bear to kill them off. I guess this constitutes a rather privileged problem, I guess many of my problems are.

My biggest inspiration is nature. Not real nature though, it's too messy and indifferent and wild, rather an inner, fairy tale, idea of nature. Or tame, scattered nature if you will, that can't gang up on you, like city trees and indoor flowers. Writing this makes me sad as I realize how domesticated I am. I wish I was one with alps and bogs, but the truth is I would cry and die. Quickly. So I settle for the fantasy and make it rich and wild. Domesticated wild. That said - I love my new plant! It's a cheap, supermarket bought creature that I don't know the name of. It looks like a cloud, a dried up under water being, a land based coral reef with tiny E.T. fingers.I love plants.
