This day, misty and drizzly, started with a breakfast meeting arranged by Illustratörcentrum. Nina Ulmaja, in charge of design at Bonniers Publishing House told us about her book about the alphabet and history of letters ABC å allt om D.
The last few weeks when I've been busy doing film funding applications I've thought a lot about how you're encouraged to distill your movie into one or two sentences, a target group, etcetera. From pure interest and curiosity Nina seemed to have crammed so much info and form into her book, aiming at people from 5 - 99. In short, the opposite. I went up to her to ask about how you're expected to narrow down your project to better pitch it, and she quickly responded: I don't think you have to do that.
I would have loved to go into this more, but there was no opportunity. Instead I slid out into the rain and mist and took about a gazillion snapshots during my long walk home .
Here is an interview with Nina Ulmaja about her work at Bonniers. It's in Swedish!
