...and Camp 303, the outdoors stage where we played.

Hello!

This is a quick post to let you know we're back home, smelly, sticky, tired and happy, from a great weekend and gig at the Norbergfestival! Also, blogging is going to be random and sparse from now until the 15th, the Glenn is on holiday and we'll be seeing friends and family far and close. I hope you're having a great summer!

More pics from my night in the park with the Karol and Wilson, before it got dark. Oh, how I treasure the summer nights! Stay with me.

This is my last post forever, no, before Norberg. I'll get back to you after the festival with photos and stories. Did I mention that Lisa Ulfves, of Lisa & Kroffe, will be our live VJ? She makes graphic, analogue overhead visuals, creating optical illusions. It's quite the treat!

Have a lovely weekend, and if you're at Norberg come say hi! We play Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and will be sure to hang around.

On another note, my illustration portfolio is ever so slightly updated. More pics will be coming up!

Last Friday night the Karol, Wilson and I sat on a bridge, right under this big hook, looking at flashes, listening to ducks. A sudden rain came and we took cover under a tree, it was beautiful. (At the same time Glenn had his surprise post-wedding stag party!)

Right now there's a bit of a Norbergfestival fixation going on in the house of Moe, rehearsing, picking out outfits, contemplating what the weather might be like during the festival, picking up a Scottish family at the Central station. Nerves comes with performing, phew.

(Look how pixly these pics are! Does anyone else have this problem when posting on blogger? Might it be the dark colours?  I've tried posting the originals as well as saved for web in the right size, but to no avail. Is anyone else experiencing the same?)

A LONG AND WINDING POST ABOUT CARS

Saturday the Glenn pointed out to me there was in fact a Moe car standing right outside our building. Happy I took a snap. It felt good to see it, somehow like a good sign.

The Moe car in turn, made me think about the two good looking cars I've recently photographed in our neighbourhood:

I don't know the first thing about cars, I have no drivers license and no desire to own one. We have a family car that we can borrow, and that meets our needs. I do like the aesthetics of some cars, especially small, sporty, vintage ones.

A year or two ago, the Glenn and I fell in love with a vintage Fiat. Let's see if I can find an image reference:

Pic linc.

No, not this one. But I couldn't resist posting this photo! I sometimes wish life were more like this.

Pic link.

No, it's not this one either. This is the one! (I can't have been properly awake.) Another great photo that puts a smile on my Monday face. I love that rich yellow! (The legs of the models are very far apart - ?)

Pic link. (The top three pics of this set I've combined together.)

I like that this car is kinda ugly and good looking at the same time, a bit like the idea of a 70's toy car. Imagine burning down the winding streets of Italy in this one in the 70's.
Also, I like old promotional brochures, so this find was quite a treat.

"The tax authorities, Eskilstuna."

"Ella Moe, previous family name Johansson."

It has happened -  I've become a Moe!

It might seem old fashioned to take your husband's name, but I've always wanted to change Johansson, Sweden's most common family name. My father wanted to change it too, though for other reasons, so I feel no remorse. Moe takes some getting used to though - it's short, for one thing. And I need a new passport and ID... There's always the practical aspect to romance.

Have a lovely weekend! We'll have a proper synthesizer weekend, rehearsing and writing new tracks for the Norbergfestival.

Two pics from yesterday's food shopping - a spider in a pretty flower and the nice looking labels of the 3,5% beer. I want to like them - the beer, not the flowers and the spiders - but I just don't like the taste of Porter.

This is a record that I picked up in April I think - I have yet to listen to it! The Glenn likes to think it was recorded on the day he was born, and that might very well be true. As a teenager I listened to Siouxsie and the Banshees a lot, and actually associate them with commuter trains from growing up in a far suburb. Dazzle was my favourite, it goes well together with the thud thud thud of the train. These days I like the idea of the band more than I like the actual band. The best record in my opinion is by far Tinderbox (1986), it's a must have.

Siouxsie Sioux is so pretty in this picture, with her heavy make up and plain tee, that I actually thought of turning this vinyl into a kitschy wall clock, just put on a battery and a pair of yellow hands. What do you think?

One of my eyes is sick and needs artificial tears, big jelly drops of disco tears that float upon the iris before they dissolve into smudge. There's some romance to this treatment, a sick eye needing new tears, don't you think? One month of tears, to be precise.

This is what artificial tears might sound like.

Though not wanting the weekend to end, I've been looking forward to this Monday - waking up to a new week without a cold, energetic and with a mission - our Colouroïd gig at the Norberg festival. It's like getting your body and mind back, being able to do whatever is to your heart's desire. I overslept till 11. My heart doesn't desire much it seems.

We've had a wonderful slow weekend, making music, eating good stuff, meeting lots of friends in the park - summer life. We've possibly even booked a croquet evening come Wednesday. Imagine that.

Also, we've been looking at cameras, we need a digital one. My heart goes out to the Canon EOS 7D, but it's too big, too pricy. We're on a budget, looking to combine small with good. Have you got any recommendations? We've been looking at the Leica X1, the price is reasonable (I misunderstood!), and it's sooo good looking - but I hear that's not all there is to a camera! Going through Flickr X1 group photos it seems to perhaps not be my dream, but definitely good, and much better than where we are now with a broken Nikon Coolpix P6000 and a Canon Ixus 850. What do you think? I'd love your input!

My favourite of the photos I took of Lisa & Kroffe, I don't think this is their favourite though. The concept was they'd be covered by Lisa's analogue overhead visuals, so stunning and graphic. I like that their features are almost wiped out by the pattern, but that their eyes still glimmer through. They remind me of something wild, like chameleons or leopards.

Have a lovely weekend! The Glenn and I will be making music, the Norbergfestival is approaching....!

So guess what, the Golden Half works! This is the first roll we've developed, though not the first one shot. Lesson learnt, test shoot and develop your analogues! I was quite surprised to see the result not knowing what to expect, the photos are actually much wider than what you see in the view finder, so a few of these I've zoomed in and cropped.

Remember my summer recipe? These pic are from FLIM Open Air at Vintervikens Trädgårdscafé last Saturday. The weather men said it would rain - it sure didn't, as you can see the day was sooo summery. The pics show Lisa & Kroffe's live gig, the t-shirt I embroidered for the Glenn's last year's birthday (you remember this year's embroidery?) depicting Eyjafjallajökull to celebrate his Icelandic inheritance and our mutual terrified joy of volcanoes, and Emily aka Pocahontas, bronzed and beautiful.

My mind is all muddled from the cold I'm having. Now I'll pull myself together and do some actual work, somehow. Wish me luck.
