black and white summer is nearly upon us. These pics I snapped blinded by sunshine on my way to Transit studio some weeks ago. What I like the best about Årsta is the sensation that time stands still and you find yourself in an endless, sleepy 50's world. Love.
Tomorrow Jessica my friend moves to Årsta with her baby girl and Cynthia Stern is getting interviewed at Swedish radio show P2 Ström's electro special together with Aux 88, Man Parrish, Orgue Electronique and Luke Eargoggle. Cynthia will also make a rare DJset at Snotty, Skåneg. 80, Sthlm - come say hi! - in the evening. I'd describe what she plays as domesday ADHD, a funky stupidity for intelligent people, and just leave it at that. Lastly, if you're Swedish speaking and not afraid of the combination of Eskilstuna and old school synth (!) there's an interview over at Radio Virus with the Glenn about us, Colouroïd. Right now though, it's only a Tuesday.

Yesterday we saw Chicken el Diablo and Hound Dawg live, and tonight, tonight - more music! I play this for myself, over and over.

Tomorrow is the party Norberg Modul Sthlm - Prelude to Norbergfestival 2011.
Saturday at 20:00 - Sunday at 01:00, Fylkingen, Söder Mälarstrand 27, Stockholm.
"You don’t have to wait until summer to get your fix of Norbergfestival! Come to Fylkingen and get a taste of this summers most eclectic electronic experience. There will be lots great music and dancing, snacks, drinks and networking with other Norberg fans. If you feel like paying entrance and support the festival you choose how much to pay. Are you bankrupt? Come anyway."
Playing is Cynthia Stern / Foona / Wobbulator / Towlie / Mats Erlandsson
Ooh I know I'll be there. Have a great weekend, wherever you are!

Lisa and I will plot a new crazy project, that if it will come alive would be... great. That's the joy of plotting, the you don't know:iness.

Glimpses from this weekend's park life at Gärdesfesten, sharp colours and sharp edges.
Our 7" FlexiWave singles are out in the shop now! We have yet to add a listen to function, but these are the early days.

Last Friday was like none other - I'd like more Fridays like this!
Our records arrived! Our lovely FlexiWave 7" singles no 1 and 2, with ourselves Colouroïd and American band Futility. It was great holding them, touching them, after such a long wait, I love the tactility and size of vinyl. The print and the press turned out great. (My family sat on our sofa shaking them: "They are so sturdy - they don't wobble at all - !")
The same day as they arrived we had 68 orders, to shops and private buyers, so Saturday morning was spent packaging and printing bills. We had our own little Santa Claus factory. We googled ourselves to see Colouroïd show up at Spotify, iTunes and Amazon, a wondrous sensation.
Friday we booked the date of our marriage.
And Konstfack turned me down. I don't feel bad at all to my surprise, the rejection disappeared with all the good things. I'm proud of my application tests (you can see them here, here, here and here), and glad I made them, I have use for them and enjoyed making them. I've reconciled myself with the fact that I probably won't ever get enrolled in an artistic university (konstnärlig högskola).

These days I'm very fascinated by pappersloppor (paper fleas - !). They are so simple and beautiful, a bit like 3D kaleidoscopes, and there seems to be much left to do with them. Do you know what they are called in English? I would love to know. Googling loppor, this paper hat made me happy, loppor is an easy way to make a fun paper structure.
Ooo I'm hungover and internet slow, but I'm happy anyway. And yes, I've re-used yesterday's pics. I had to see them inverted.

my previous post - the patterns, lines and repetition. Today is my friend Jessica's birthday! Grattis, Grattis!

I was experimenting with making kaleidoscope waves, an idea I find intriguing. I imagine it to be like peaking through a round boat window into this universe of darkness and depth and repetition. However, I wasn't satisfied and ended up not using these pics for the project in question... One day I'll get there.
Today is my first day at the Transit studio! After so many years of working at home with small interruptions it feels strange... and exciting! I'm doing an internal count down of how long it'll take before my computer starts screaming and I'll have to shut it off though, it's getting worse and worse.
