HEAVY AND LOVELY

This Saturday eve, with darkened sky, lit candles, Glenn asnoozing and a party awaiting, the Berlin October stay seems far away. I think about Quaint Living's up and coming Japan trip and the short Kyoto stay of May and the mild April sun of London... all far, far away.My body has snuck into winter mood in secret. Coats and soups and red wine, saffron, Christmas lights and waking up into the dark.

Heavy and lovely.

MIKZ

Between soundcheck and gig we snuck off to see Bill Youngman at the MIKZ in Friedrichshain. We were greeted by the constant low thunder of base and a body search at the door.

I would love to go back...

Paper

They were almost everywhere, but they might have been up a bit too late. Now six of their siblings have come to stay with us.

PS. Three of Bill Youngman's favourite YouTube metal drummer clips:
The Swedish Gravity Blast

Shannon Lucas

George Kollias - Aeons of Burning Galaxies

From Bill to Karol at my request.
Cheers!

Oh, and Billion Dollar Brain? Terrible stuff.

WEARY

These days I'm weak and weary. My body has had enough of something, but I don't know what. I please it with food and bed rest and Daddy's Girls but that doesn't seem to fix it.

Glenn is doing the Berghain Kantine again late Saturday night and I go as dance along. A loveliness that doesn't lend room for feebleness.

Tonight is chanterelle risotto, tiny chocolate puddings with hot berry sauce, red wine and Törley - of course - in the name of Karol. It's her birthday and we aim to feed her.

PS. Mighty.

Feathery

This autumn has put me in a fiddly mood. The day before yesterday I made use of my feathers from Tokyu Hands and sewed me a feather diadem (is diadem the word I'm looking for?).

Let's make this autumn a gaudy one, shall we?
Soon we'll go each day from a compact grey to a compact dark. This calls for Törley - the bottled Törley as well as the Törley of the mind.

The Lyre

Last weekend Glenn and I went to Lyran. I figured it to be one of the last chances to latte a while away on their punchveranda before winter.

These are the days that stay with you, like the day in March when we walked on ice from Skanstull to Hornstull (here and here). There's a certain kind of sunshine that gets embedded in your skin and that lingers forever in the very back of your eyes.

PS. Found this little piece of greatness at Niklas blog and rushed there yesterday camera galore - I had a meeting in the area - but it was too late, it was gone.

Prism

The giant is up and dangling.
We'll have to shorten the cord and cover up some of its' shortcomings, but our golden hallway is more Christmasy than ever - in a good way.

PS. Love this.

Material world

Today is all about haves = strange objects, and have nots = money.

Item 1: A beautiful second hand feather hat that's divided my gang into "Ooh! You won't regret that!" to "That's the eeriest thing I've ever seen!" and "A dead bird! I'm not going out with you if you're wearing that!"

Item 2: A chockingly pink deer I got in Halle-am-Saale 2004 from a kind class mate on my birthday. At the time I really liked it but somehow never got around to placing it on my wall. In these days of stuffed and hand made beasts invading our magazine homes this deer has haunted me. Now it's turned white and is closer than ever to touchin' my wall.

Item 3: Ever since I watched "The producers" with my friend Monika I've wanted a little textile flower bonnet thingie that I saw on one of the little old ladies (oh how I love'em eager brawds) and now I've finally made myself one. It's big!

Item 4: Karol returned from her C.Aarmé music video making and Copenhagen partying days with a gift for me from her family, a Rörstrand Japan heirloom to commemorate one of her little old ladies, my Japan trip and my drawing style all in one. Loveliness. She also brought a Beppe Loda vinyl song especially made for her, "Karolina" and news that my friend Egils has taken a bad fall in the lonely dark and broken his nose and damaged his teeth. Oh why.

Item 5: A huge chandelier that I along with the feather hat purchased today is slowly making its' way up into my hallway ceiling. Insanity. Better pics will come, I'm sure. For now it's resting on my coach.
